“We are what we think… All that we are, arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts we make our world.”
What does it take for you to attract and step into the life you want?
When you demonstrate the life you want, you’ll attract it back toward you.
Granted, you can’t just leap from your life into your dream life in a single step, but you can build the bridge that enables you to cross over in the shortest possible time.
Start out with some conscious actions and do them consistently every day. These actions become habits and help you ingrain new thoughts and attitudes into your subconscious.
These new thoughts and attitudes are the ones that will attract your dream life. They make up the mindset that requires you to act in accordance with the life you want.
Do you desire financial freedom?
Could your relationships use some more passion?
What about your physical self – are you satisfied with your body?
Do you feel joy and happiness in your life? Do you want more?
You can make all these things happen! All it takes is a commitment to consciously create the thoughts, feelings and emotions that you want to bring into your life and the follow-up actions to make it a reality.
Conscious living, just like living in the moment, involves being aware of what’s around you and choosing to make the most of what you’ve got, but it takes things a step further. Conscious living brings in the added factor of making certain choices that can bring you the life you desire.
Conscious living is living on purpose. You choose how you want to live your life and then live that way.
“I am living the Dream not because I’m special, I’m living the dream because I was obedient to the call of the dream.” Oprah
All of us take actions every day. Even lying on the couch and watching television is a course of action. However, few of us take intelligent and inspired action which consists of actions that are most likely to lead to success.
In Teaneck New Jersey, Angela Logan, a mother of three had a series of setbacks.
She is an Actress/Dancer unable to find any acting jobs due to the economy.
Then her fallback job as a substitute teacher disappeared. It gets worst. A bad construction job on her house put her was in a financial mess with foreclosure and homelessness waiting outside her door.
“I told people what was going on and asked them to buy a cake” she described her bold move to stand up in her Church and ask for help.
The result was people responded enthusiastically and without judgment.
Joseph Campbell said, “If you follow your bliss, the money will follow.” Most people believe the idea that you need money to achieve your dreams. There’s nothing wrong with that. Perhaps it’s time to update that belief and focus your attention on your dream.
Is making money or being healthy more like mountain climbing? Do you find yourself out of breath thinking about the climb? That’s the case for most of us. Everywhere there are obstacles that prevent our efforts and limit the quality of our lives. The good news is that obstacles don’t have to be permanent or impossible.
Obstacles can actually be a blessing! Obstacles are often the path to great success and achievement. When you look at it more closely the obstacle isn’t really a roadblock. It’s an opportunity.
“Dreams are renewable. No matter what our age or condition, there are still untapped possibilities within us and new beauty waiting to be born.” Dr. Dale Turner.
To save her house Angela came up with the idea to sell her famously moist apple cakes as a last resort. She set a goal of baking 100 cakes in 10 days and started selling them for $40 each. In a matter of weeks, the effort became the mother of all bake sales, gaining international attention and a new business venture was born.
“I called them ‘mortgage apple cakes,’ because they were meant to save our house,” Angela said as she sifted a pile of flour into a commercial mixer blending a fragrant concoction of apples and cinnamon.
Still, asking friends and colleagues for help wasn’t easy. Angela swallowed her pride and stood up during her classes at Bergen County Community College, and at her church.
“I told people what was going on and asked them to buy a cake.”
“People responded — enthusiastically and without judgment,” she said.
“It gave me the energy to stay up day and night to make the cakes,”
“I was making cakes one by one — mix one, bake one, mix another one, bake another one. I had one mixer, one bowl and two pans.”
In seven days, she made 42 cakes.
When her story appeared in the local paper it was picked up by television news stations around the country and suddenly, Angela’s apple cakes went national. In a matter of days, there were orders for more than 600 of them.
If there’s one characteristic found in all successful people, it’s the ability to persevere and overcome obstacles. Those that struggle with life invariably give up far too quickly.
It begins with the ability to see your vision accurately. This requires having a true understanding of what is possible when you follow the call and live your authentic life.
Do you need help to see your vision clearly? To take inspired action and birth the Dream you were meant to live?
It was the picture of the Lion on the book that drew my attention and I got close enough to read the title “Get out of your Cage”, needing more explanation, the Author ,Simone was telling me the purpose and meaning of the book when a candle on her table was picked up.
Shifting her attention to Jennifer and Edwardo she greeted them and encouraged Edwardo to sample the soy candle wax which he did, applying it to his hands and face.
“I love myself “it was an unexpected reaction from Edwardo, then Simone, responded “I love myself”
The next sixty seconds was an improvisation comedy routine between the two.
“I’m fantastic!” I said, joining the other three voices…” we’re the Fantastic Four; we’re energetically connected with awareness and consciousness”
Dissolving into laughter we then introduced ourselves.
Jennifer is a Holistic Nurse and Reiki practitioner they were both representing The Center for Self Development.
We were standing with Rev. Simone Lord. On her table, were her Soy Candles, Teas and Books.
The Wellness fair brought together healers, readers, teachers and speakers covering a wide range of Holistic and Alternative health modalities.
I met Keisha Christian and lingered over her display of handmade crystal jewelry. Beside her was Phillip with bottles of Nutrilite vitamins/supplements, a brand I was familiar with…I told him how I was introduced to herbal supplements and now rely on them to maintain my health.
I have found the Holistic health fair is a great way to introduce these services and products to the public.
It draws people in to touch and feel, get up close to hearing and seeing and experiencing Reiki, essential oils, meditation in bite-size portions. These strategies to inform and educate the public about different modalities are crucial for them to be accepted by the mainstream.
Holistic health modalities offer alternative ways to eliminate the cause of some health problems rather than trying to treat the symptoms. So, for example if you are suffering from indigestion it makes more sense to eliminate the foods that are causing the problem than it does to take medication after the pain starts. Holistic healers are looking to heal the whole body, and therefore it is believed that first you stop doing the things that are harming you, and that applies to the body, the mind or the spirit.
Over the past sixteen years I have integrated these health modalities to my personal healthcare. Now this is not to be used as medical advice or recommendations. This is purely descriptions of the more common alternative health approaches being used today by more Americans.
Reiki is a healing art that uses the body’s energy to begin and further the healing process. It is performed by using one’s hands to follow a specific pattern of massage, to stimulate energy movement throughout the body. Reiki healers, who are specially trained to perform the healing massage, do not touch the client and the work is done sitting or lying down wearing comfortable clothing.
Be sure to come back for my next post as I continue the discussion with aromatherapy and essential oils.
